Beatles tours in Liverpool: your options
There is no single Beatles tour in Liverpool. The Magical Mystery Tour is a 2-hour bus ride with photo stops. A guided walk covers the city centre. Strawberry Field has its own visitor centre, and the two childhood homes can only be entered on a National Trust minibus tour. These are separate tickets, so decide which of them you want before you book.
The sites also lie in different places. The bus starts at the Royal Albert Dock and ends at the Cavern Club. Strawberry Field is in Woolton, and Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road are in Woolton and Allerton. The prices below are the adult prices published for 2026, and a few details change with the season.

Magical Mystery Tour
The bus ride takes 2 hours. Adults pay £21.95, children aged 3 to 16 pay £10, children aged 0 to 2 pay nothing and an accompanying carer goes free. A family of 2 adults and up to 2 children pays £55. Every person needs a ticket, babies included.
It starts at the Anchor Courtyard, 32 Gower Street, at the Royal Albert Dock, and you should check in 30 minutes before departure. It ends at the Cavern Club on Mathew Street. From April to September departures run between 09:30 and 16:30, and from October to March between 10:00 and 14:00. Check the calendar for the exact time, and for Christmas and New Year dates.
Basic Cavern Club entry is included on the day you ride, except during International Beatleweek. Special concerts are not covered.

Penny Lane
On the Magical Mystery Tour, Penny Lane is a photo stop where you leave the bus. The route also passes places linked to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, including their childhood homes. Passing a house does not mean you can go inside.
Penny Lane is a public street, and the tour is the simplest way to see it with a guide.
Strawberry Field
The visitor centre is on Beaconsfield Road in Woolton and open every day from 10:00 to 17:00. The exhibition and garden cost £12.45 for adults and £9.45 for concessions. Children up to and including 16 go free with a paying adult, and carers are free. Booking ahead is recommended.
The café and shop are open to everyone. A photo stop at the gate on a bus tour does not include the exhibition, which has its own ticket. A visit takes 1 to 1.5 hours.
To get there, take bus 76 to Menlove Avenue and Beaconsfield Road. Buses 75 and 86C stop at Menlove Avenue and Comptons Lane, from where it is a 10 to 15 minute walk. Visitor parking is free. Only guide dogs are allowed, and you can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours ahead.

Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road
John Lennon's and Paul McCartney's childhood homes, run by the National Trust.
Access
You can only go inside on a pre-booked combined minibus tour. You cannot turn up at the houses on your own. Mendips was John Lennon's childhood home and 20 Forthlin Road was Paul McCartney's.
Prices
Non-member adults aged 18 and over pay £37 and children aged 5 to 17 pay £18.50. Members pay £13 for adults and £6.50 for children. Under-5s are free. Membership does not make the minibus tour free, and July and August prices differ.
Departures and duration
Tours leave at 10:05 and 10:45 from Liverpool South Parkway, bus stand 2, and at 13:30 and 14:10 from Speke Hall, with changes on some days. The tour takes about 2 hours for a maximum of 15 people. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before departure.
Rules
Photography inside, large bags, and food and drink are not allowed. The upper floors are not wheelchair accessible, and tickets for wheelchair users, carers and under-5s are booked by phone. Tickets are described as non-refundable, so book early.
